Hydrogen is colourless, odourless, tasteless, flammable and non-toxic. It exists as a gas at ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure. It is the lightest gas known, with a density approximately 0.07 that of air.

Hydrogen is widely used by refineries, petrochemical and bulk chemical facilities for hydro treating, catalytic reforming and hydro cracking.
• Hydrogen is used in chemical production, such as dyes, catalysts, flavours, pesticides, halogen organics, plastic and synthetic fibers, specialty chemicals and petroleum.
• Used by metallurgical companies in the production of their products, such as heat-treating, metal production, and welding and cutting.

 Hydrogen is used by food companies for Hydrogenate fats, oils and fatty acids to control various physical and chemical properties.
• Used by glass manufacturers as protective atmosphere.
